Pushing Toward the Sun

Looking out my window
On a sunlit grove,
A lot going on now
Where once there was silence.
I stay awake at night
Transfused by my science.

Under the sun they saw my vow,
Clouds and rain came down
And I wept at the sight.

Colours in the air
Move the dark in my mind.
I'll step out onto the path
And hold the fire forever
Until it burns my soul.

I'll skip the brick walls for the woods,
To the dial upon the mountain
In the bright sunlight near Lampton,
I'll go everywhere I can.

The love, the laugh, the light,
Pushing up the mountain
'Til the sun comes with the wind.
